Recognition

The Child Care Center of Evanston’s preschool program is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) with a Level III Quality Star Rating and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Each of the Family Child Care Providers in our network are also licensed by DCFS and several are also accredited by the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC.) 

Ann Rappelt and Beryl McCanton were selected as finalists in 2007 for the Kohl-McCormick Early Childhood Teaching Award. Current Child Care Center preschool teacher and Family Education Manager Bettye Cohns was a recipient of the Kohl-McCormick Early Childhood teaching award in 2000, and former teacher, Melinda Daubitz won this award in 2001. 

The Childcare Network of Evanston (CNE) has honored former Executive Director Helen Roberts-Evans (2007), Family Child Care Connections Provider Kim and Willa Robinson (2006) and Home Day Care Program provider, Jean Hood (2005) with CNE’s Early Childhood Award.
